Devoted, Dependent, and Delighted

Our Vision

A God-glorifying community devoted to him, dependent on him and delighted in him

Our Mission

To devote ourselves to God in every area of our life

To depend upon God for everything we need and desire

To delight in him as our greatest joy

In order for us to glorify God and enjoy him forever as the Bible calls us to we must have all three of these realities at work, devoted to our Triune-God through dependence upon him which leads to delighting in him. To the degree that we neglect these, to that degree we will neglect God's glory and our own joy.

Our Beliefs

We are a part of the Grace Presbyterian Church of New Zealand which is a national Presbyterian Church that holds strongly to the Bible as its rule of faith and life. We are Presbyterian as it relates to our polity, and reformed as it relates to our theology. We have a passion for God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), and a passion for people. This means that in all that we do, we seek to bring glory to God and to be aware of where he is leading us through his Word and Holy Spirit. It also means that we are dedicated to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are lost, both here in New Zealand and elsewhere. In doing so, we remain firmly committed to the Reformed faith as the most consistent presentation and outworking of Biblical Christianity. For more information on our confessional statements, go to our denominational website.

Our Story

Covenant Presbyterian Church was formed in Manurewa, Auckland, by a like-minded fellowship of Christians in 2000, and was a founding member church of Grace Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. We established the Church on our present site, formerly the Manurewa Bowling Club, in 2002 and quickly followed this with building the Covenant Kids Preschool and Manukau Christian School and assisting with the establishment of Grace Theological College next door.
